However, what I really am concerned about with palm oil is that massive amount of saturated fat it has. It has the highest saturated fat % out of any oil and is hardly healthier than hydrogenated oils. It's still really bad for you, and putting palm oil in a "natural" peanut butter product is incredibly misleading. They cleverly hide the nutrition facts in the Amazon listing, but it increases the saturated fat from 2.5g (Kirkland) to 3.5g per 2 tbsp. It sounds like a small amount, but the daily recommended value is 20g and you're probably exceeding that by about double if you're eating red meat regularly. It's also pretty easy to go heavy on peanut butter and put more than 2 tbsp if you're making a PB&J.
Unfortunately unless you're buying expensive or Kirkland Signature brand natural peanut butter, it seems like all the mainstream grocery store brands mislead people by putting palm oil and sugar in "natural" peanut butter. As others have said, natural peanut butters should only have one ingredient: peanuts. A bit of salt is allowed to enhance the taste, but sugar and added oils should never be in natural peanut butter.
According to the FDA, they generally define "natural" as meaning nothing artificial or synthetic has been added that wouldn't normally be expected to be there. It's totally expected that PB has oils and sugar added, as it has forever.
Purists may prefer just peanuts but natural PB doesn't mean it contains only peanuts.

Everyone has different tastes.
Anyways got mine for $18.10
A 15 oz jar has 13 servings according to skippy so this would be 13 x 12 = 156 servings. 18 months is 547 days, so if you wanted to eat it all in 18 months you would need to have one serving every 3.5 days. Considering most people eat more than one serving at a time, it shouldn't be too difficult to get through it all before it expires, especially if you do any kind of baking with it.
Happy Friday math day.
