Which walmart one are you talking about?
If its the white bag stuff then yea I agree. The seeds are to large.
But the $18 one is the Pennington Classic. Its a good mix and the birds eat a lot of it everyday for me. The white bag not so much. Well the Squirrels liked it.

Our backyard birds tend to not eat as much of the millet (I think -- the very small seed) and like the sunflower seeds and black sunflower so the Medley from Sam's is a ton of sunflower seed (as was the Kaytee Western Blend).

I agree, that stuff is junk for most.
Birds would mostly push it out to get to what little was ok in it.
