Just received this ordered for the wife today. It comes with NO original Nike box. A card inside the shipping box from Dick's acknowledges this and indicates this pair came from their "Going Going Gone by Dick's Sporting Goods" store. Other than that they look brand new and unworn. However, one of the reflector dots on the back of the right shoe is way off centered, near the bottom where the outsole meets. Looks cross-eyed. Not sure if she's gonna keep them.

The runrepeat.com review is positive and filled with specs.
Did you even read the review there? They gave it a 72! Which their scoring system marks as "bad"...

Thank you Op - Got a pair for my wife --- I love that it's essentially waterproof (Gore-Tex) and it's such a great price - Seems to be a nice in-between road-to-trail runner... For this price, think it's a great deal. However, based on the pros and cons (see review site link below), no way would have paid normal price for them... https://runrepeat.com/nike-pegasus-trail-5-gtxTechnical review link (above) seemed to have more negative than positive, but I watched other video reviews from the folks who have them and they seem to love them. Am a bit concerned about the breathability aspect - with hot weather coming on but do like that might be good for her to use in wet conditions.
I wouldn't use Gore-tex shoes in hot weather if you need something to wear all day. They don't breath enough. It would be fine for short periods of time, though.

Thank you for saying this.

Gore tex shoes are atrocious if you live somewhere with humidity in the summer. Even with a top of the line pair of athletic socks, your feet are going to be soaked. Id bet even after 30 minutes of putting on your shoes, you'd be feeling it.

These aren't thick hiking boots. The uppers are extremely thin and breathable. More breathable than the majority of $60 casual shoes. I've worn them in the heat for 8+ hours without issue. They're pretty much my go to on days it might rain.

The audience score is bad but Runrepeat's verdict says "We liked the Nike Pegasus Trail 5 GTX for its smartly-engineered weight reductions—a rare achievement in waterproof footwear. In our lab tests, it performed exceptionally well across walking, hiking, and running on varied surfaces. While it sacrifices some breathability and comfort, the weather-resistant Gore-Tex upper and versatile design make it a reliable choice as an all-in-one shoe for cold, wet winters." In warm weather I'm okay with my feat getting wet as long as the shoe drains and dries quickly. I shop for last season's waterproof shoes in summer to have on hand for the occasional times I'll want them in winter.
