Seems like this hasn't been patched for 60fps (reportedly only stable 30) on SW2 so I suggest against this. This is a great price for the game but when you are spending over 120 hours and with a game of this caliber, you want to play it in the best way possible.

It's not going to be patched. If they do anything, they'll make a Switch 2 version that costs full price. That's what they did for PS5. I doubt they're going to bother with a Switch 2 version, though.

Atlas doesn't typically update their games like that. They just re-release the same game with a slight tweak and charge folks full price. Sony meanwhile only charges ten bucks if you already own the game, for their upgrades.

I'm about 10 hours into P5R on Switch 1 OLED. Graphics are great, flawless really. How would 60fps really change that (serious question, not meant to undermine the comment!).

No shade if you only have a Switch, it's better to play the game than wait to play on a permanently docked and powerful console/pc, but the difference is a lot. The games' aesthetic style just pops when it's in fluid 60 and navigating dungeons, walking around, destroying monster, etc just feel smoother all-round. It goes from great to amazing, and I think that's important when you put such a huge amount of time into jrpgs with more action.

No offense taken! I actually don't plan to upgrade the Switch any time soon because I have an Xbox Series X. It sounds like the graphics would be more comparable to Refantazio then, which is beautiful on the Xbox.
