I always hate to be that guy, but can't you get these games used on Ebay at 75% off? I didn't see that this was digital so that's why asking.

You can probably get a used copy for $35+ including tax and shipping. Maybe $30 local off FB marketplace. Maybe folks have Amazon GC to spend or are willing to pay a little more for a sealed copy.

Never that much off. Maybe you'd get a lucky $25 here or there, but since the update, prices have jumped up to $35-45. Lots of the switch games that got the update received a bump in value on the used market.

I guess it depends. There are really three different types of Mario games to me:

3D Adventure: Super Mario Odyssey is indeed, along the lines of SM64 or Sunshine.

3D Platformer: Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury

Traditional Platformer: Super Mario Wonder

Odyssey is a must-play along with the above-mentioned.
