Nothing but 5 star reviews... 99% of them via the incentivized Vine, and useless-- not one person thought to record their voice.
Price history shows it actually retails close to $40 (given how often it bounces there from $70)
And some of their AI-rendered ad-people have gone super-saiyanAryan.
I'm buying this just to leave a real review on that freaking page

I bought a few weeks back at this price and in testing a brief video with/without on my iPhone, did make a difference and sound better, especially when subjects are >10ft away.

The only demo I've been able to find is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AD6QzN-Fc5M

Seems to have clipping issues, but that could be user error. They don't really sound that good either way, but might fit into the "better than nothing" category.

Oh wow, it's truly awful, thanks for sharing that link. No need for my review, cancelled order

I'm part of Vine.
It is not incentivized. The reviewers still pay income tax on items, so about 15-20% of the item's selling value. Therefore, it's not "free", and a reviewer should assess the value of picking things to use versus collect. For example, I would not select a $70 MSRP product knowing that it could be crap because I am gonna owe ~$14 in income tax. (Amazon tracks the value of the items and reports it as income to the IRS.)
However, reviews/reviewers can be hit or miss depending on the number of reviews the reviewer needs to do to keep active.
Some may just "mail it in" without ever using the device. Selling on auction site, giving away as gift, just offering a (+) review to stay active but they have not used the product, etc.
Also, a reviewer does not need to pass back 4-5* reviews to stay active. Of course, I have only been a reviewer since April, so this isn't based on experience but on the T&C.
I agree that a good review would require uploading use of the product.

What state are you paying 20% sales tax?

Income tax, not start tax. I don't know anything about this but he said income tax. From my understanding of his comment, Amazon is treating vine reviews as a job and the item as compensation. At the end of the year they add up the value of all the items you received and snitch to the IRS so you can get charged income tax on them.

I bought this product on Amazon before. The overall quality is very good. Although it is not as good as DJI, it is worth the money.

If it's 1099 work then hope you have formally set up a business so you can also deduct your expenses and such.

Can this be used on a Windows PC, for example: on Teams calls/meetings?

It is 1099, and it does take like 15 min to photo, upload, and write the reviews. The invite came through a personal account (vs. business). Nevertheless, I will check with my accountant. Thanks for the suggestion.
Most of the stuff is meh. Chinese knickknack items like phone holders/screen protectors, towels, hardware, keychains, etc. Limited brand stuff.
I will see what happens later in the year once I get to gold status and I can see items valued at more than $100.

Assuming this will act like most mics, having a mic sit in front of a laptop (like zoom) will produce feedback from the speakers.
