Seems to have clipping issues, but that could be user error. They don't really sound that good either way, but might fit into the "better than nothing" category.
Price history shows it actually retails close to $40 (given how often it bounces there from $70)
And some of their AI-rendered ad-people have gone super-saiyanAryan.
I'm buying this just to leave a real review on that freaking page

It is not incentivized. The reviewers still pay income tax on items, so about 15-20% of the item's selling value. Therefore, it's not "free", and a reviewer should assess the value of picking things to use versus collect. For example, I would not select a $70 MSRP product knowing that it could be crap because I am gonna owe ~$14 in income tax. (Amazon tracks the value of the items and reports it as income to the IRS.)
However, reviews/reviewers can be hit or miss depending on the number of reviews the reviewer needs to do to keep active.
Some may just "mail it in" without ever using the device. Selling on auction site, giving away as gift, just offering a (+) review to stay active but they have not used the product, etc.
Also, a reviewer does not need to pass back 4-5* reviews to stay active. Of course, I have only been a reviewer since April, so this isn't based on experience but on the T&C.
I agree that a good review would require uploading use of the product.

I don't blame you for receiving free products, but you cannot tell us you aren't biased to write a better report. There's a reason I haven't seen a single vine review under 4 stars. I actually appreciate you speaking about it though.
I would also assume at least some of your upvotes are other vine reviewers and slick deals staff.
Will this be good for music recording for casual vocals? Better than the phone mic I'm assuming?
Generally speaking lav mics are meant for speech capture, not vocals. However, if this fits your budget better, I think it would probably be a slight step up from the phone mic. That said, I looked on Amazon and it seems like there are some better options around the same price range though. I'd suggest searching for ZealSound mics. They seem to make affordable mics in this price range. A budget, full-sized podcast-style mic would definitely work better for vocals than a budget lav mic.

They have all these nice marketing photos and then it seems like they just threw their product at a random product engineer and told them to go make a product video. I'll take the honest results though.
