The only demo I've been able to find is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AD6QzN-Fc5M

Seems to have clipping issues, but that could be user error. They don't really sound that good either way, but might fit into the "better than nothing" category.

Nothing but 5 star reviews... 99% of them via the incentivized Vine, and useless-- not one person thought to record their voice.
Price history shows it actually retails close to $40 (given how often it bounces there from $70)
And some of their AI-rendered ad-people have gone super-saiyanAryan.
I'm buying this just to leave a real review on that freaking page

Oh wow, it's truly awful, thanks for sharing that link. No need for my review, cancelled order

Like most people i know we immediately skip past and disregard these incentivized reviews, and won't buy a product if that is all the reviews available. That's becoming the norm it seems, and eventually and hopefully vine reviews disappear. Even most of the pictures are just of the product sitting on a table etc, not looking used at all.

I don't blame you for receiving free products, but you cannot tell us you aren't biased to write a better report. There's a reason I haven't seen a single vine review under 4 stars. I actually appreciate you speaking about it though.

I would also assume at least some of your upvotes are other vine reviewers and slick deals staff.
You're missing a couple of their points. The vine program has things that are retail price (which means higher price than normal), and you have to pay taxes at 15-30%. Because of this, people usually only choose things that they would actually buy anyways.
Besides that, there's no incentive for good reviews. Having reviewed a high percentage of the items you received is a goal, but there's nothing for leaving a good review. You're concluding that these are free things so of course people will review high and ignore those reviews when it's really not the case. If anything, they're useful in that they're usually the first reviews on a product, so they offer feedback on items by the time non-vine people come across them.

Dumb question, I need a mic that can clip to a person doing an active workout. What would work best? I've tried these before and they just fall off after moving around a lot.

I'm part of Vine.It is not incentivized. The reviewers still pay income tax on items, so about 15-20% of the item's selling value. Therefore, it's not "free", and a reviewer should assess the value of picking things to use versus collect. For example, I would not select a $70 MSRP product knowing that it could be crap because I am gonna owe ~$14 in income tax. (Amazon tracks the value of the items and reports it as income to the IRS.)However, reviews/reviewers can be hit or miss depending on the number of reviews the reviewer needs to do to keep active. Some may just "mail it in" without ever using the device. Selling on auction site, giving away as gift, just offering a (+) review to stay active but they have not used the product, etc. Also, a reviewer does not need to pass back 4-5* reviews to stay active. Of course, I have only been a reviewer since April, so this isn't based on experience but on the T&C.I agree that a good review would require uploading use of the product.
I've had my legit one star reviews deleted by Amazon and I'm not part of the vine program. You can bet your ass Amazon curates reviews to sell more products. There is literally nothing stopping them from doing so. Reviews are absolutely worthless on Amazon and yet another good thing trashed by a corporation with capitalistic god like powers.

If you have audio that's important enough to record with a mic why wouldn't it be important enough to record it with a reputable mic? I don't understand the purpose of buying a cheap crappy microphone.
