Yes, you are right, but that's basically only for erythritol, which has a glycemic index of ~0. This is made with maltitol, which has a glycemic index of 35, where actual sugar has a GI of 65. You could subtract only about half of the grams. Maltitol is also significantly more likely to cause bloating and possibly laxative effects than erythritol if your body is not acclimated to it. It's cheaper and more calorically dense than erythritol, which historically gets a bad rep on this website despite being easier to digest and better for you. It accounts for the very sweet taste you get from Pure Protein bars, since those also have it.

Lmao apparently you haven't learned anything in all these years either. Protein doesn't make you fat. Consuming more calories than you use makes you fat. End of story.

Even this is outdated. Latest research says that to maximize muscle gains, you should target 1g of protein per pound of total body weight: https://www.strongerbyscience.com...n-science/

I was disappointed with these. I really like the One protein glazed donut actually taste close to a glazed donut. These are just not very good and I love peanut butter. They are edible, I just won't buy them again. Quest bars are my go to and these can't compare at all.

This and the cookies creme are good, but they should be called Three bars since it is not ONE gram of sugar. Sadly all the good protein bars like ONE and Barbell have 10g or so net carbs and the extra 3 just kind of ruins it. Just buy some zero sugar Hershey products, the Yorks and Reese's are pretty damn great

i dunno this specific bar tastes a lot like the Reeses PB to me.

ONE has another long time flavor called PB Cup that tastes NOTHING like a reeses. This Reeses ONE Bar tastes so much like a reeses to me.

I wish it did for me too, but taste testing both side by side there's a SIGNIFICANT difference according to my taste buds.

Still one of the best tasting protein bars on the market though, hands down.

Macros are terrible on these. You can frequently get chocolate pure protein bars for under a dollar on Amazon. Those are 20g protein and 180 calories and taste great.

About the same as these reeces ones (not great). You want to stay around 10 calories per gram of protein in a bar. For whey isolate powder about half that 5 calories per gram of protein. All of this assumes you're watching calories and not trying to bulk or somthing of course.

Dang. I ordered 5 boxes of those. I use the below as well. I'm hoping to gain 20lbs over the next 3 years via exercise. 6 years ago I was probably 130, today almost 170. But I started underweight. My goal is 190lbs.

yeah the protein thing was supposedly overhyped by protein suppliers (surprise surprise)

Its funny being that Whey protein was a by-product 30ish years ago that farmers used to throw away or use as fertilizer. Some meat wad egg head figured out it had some great muscle building properties.

Shooting for 1gram per 1lb you weight is a good rule of thumb... most people dont NEED that much protein though so if you fall short its no big deal.

Unless you're some genetic freak or taking roids you dont need nearly the amount that bodybuilders traditionally recommend.

I imagine these might be pretty good frozen if they taste anything like Reese's at all

noooooo... it tastes the same but the consistency is a much harder version of the peanut butter (its mixed with protein!) Freezing it might make it brick like... gonna break a toof
