I've had this device for over 15 months and it's been a game-changer for my 120 mile RT commute to San Diego 3 days per week. I use it on a 2022 Corolla Hybrid which is one of the most compatible cars with Comma (full start/stop). I've also used it on the occasional trip up to Northern California and it's been a god-send. I occasionally use it on my wife's 2019 Pilot as well as I bought an extra harness and power supply. For a long-distance commute, it really does take the edge off of driving. I find myself arriving at home and at work so much more relaxed. The benefit of my commute is it's mostly 50 miles of open driving on the I-5. I sit in the 3rd lane at 70mph and just let it do it's thing. A bit of traffic in the Carlsbad area is easily handled and cannot recommend this device enough.

Ya this isn't a product you wait for... Every freeway mile without it could be sooo much better. I bought at $3k and not one part of me wishes I waited.

For real, OpenPilot is great. The Comma 2 and Comma 3 had QC issues but those were marketed as developer kits.
I don't have one now because I fried mine trying to fix the cooling on the 3. Supposedly the 3X is much better and I do plan on getting a Comma device to put on my wife's new car.
I'll summarize by ending with OpenPilot helped my wife and I be better drivers and it did make driving feel "more chill". On the other hand, my mom complained it kept beeping while she was driving when she borrowed our car 😂 (she's said she wasn't making driving mistakes, but I beg to differ)
Also coincidentally, my wife was hit in a parking lot and like any dash cam would be, it was a big help speeding things up with insurance claims. (But any dash cam would do for that, that's just a bonus)
There are OpenPilot forks (that are banned from the OpenPilot community for not meeting community safety rules) that will do more. I don't condone them, but if you want to be more like FSD with the mistakes and safety lapses, that's an option for the over-eager daredevils out there.

Thanks. Bought 1 to try with 2021 Tesla MY. I have used both Comma 2 and 3 before (still have the 3 on 21 Sonata) so easy decision for me. I do a lot of commuting (30K/yr) so it helps.

I think it was 2500 and then 150 for the adapter maybe? It was when the 3 was first out. I could be wrong on the price but I remember thinking of it as $3k at the time
