Generally, how reliable are these Chinese branded TVs? My 2 Vizio TVs I bought from Costco 9 years ago are still running like a champ.
TCL essentially took over Vizios spot after Vizio essentially "gave up" it's spot. I haven't heard about any issues with TCL from the folks that I know that bought them over the last 4 or 5 years. Vizio on the other hand, I've had the same issue with screen blotch on several models except the models from 15 years ago.

TCL TV's are generally as reliable as the other big brands, as long as you don't get their bottom shelf edge lit TV's. Their edge lit TV's use cheaper components, and it's common for the backlight to fail after a couple years. This QM8 is one of their flagship TV's.

I've had a 55" I bought at MicroCenter as a refurb in 2019, still runs like new. I have a TCL 10" tablet which works great. Hoping to get a position at BB Geek Squad so I can use emp discount for a TCL 75".

I have a 2018 R series TCL that gets used daily, still works and looks great, and still gets updates from Roku. Considering replacing it with a larger TCL.

I bought a TCL from Costco 4 to 5 years ago. It now has scrolling vertical lines appearing from the top to about 6 inches down the screen. Not reliable to me. Watching on average around hour of youtube, netflix, etc. in the evening.
Subpar viewing angle on rtings. Just looking for a mini led with 120hz and good viewing for living room update. Currently have a 70in Vizio. Probably go for 75in now.

Get OLED or a TV with ADS Pro panel like the Hisense U8N 75" (other sizes use a VA panel). Just be aware that you'll give up some contrast with an ADS Pro panel vs a VA panel which has worse off angle views.

This qm8 is a little much for how much I watch tv, and in this price range I would probably strongly consider OLED.
Qm6k and qm7k seem weird. Strangely hyped by YouTube but according to rtings , falls short to last year models

TCL basically won the spec race. Reliability id put them in the same range as mid range LG and above low end samsung.
120hz RR
240hz gaming accelerator
TCL has better reliability than Hisense SPECIALLY with their bargain models.
