This is a crazy bargain. While the Edition XS are the highest price/performance ratio in the lineup, these are excellent. High clarity, well-balanced sound, very open and large soundstage. Bass is textured and solid, and can be improved with EQ.

What about durability? Some amazon reviews mentioned one side dying.

I'm a pro reviewer and have had approx. 15 HIFIMAN headphones over the years. I've only had this happen once, and it was straight out of the box on an older set, B-stock. Basically, I have no concerns. Also, their quality has increased every year since they started. Hope this helps!
