I'm not sure if this is YMMV, but if you use the promo code GETKINDLE15, you could get an additional 15% off. Not sure if this is combinable with the trade-in deal.

I bought the 16gb scribe and a 256gb nxtpaper. Returned the scribe. The key button on nxtpaper is a game changer.
Isn't the nxtpaper a completely different product though? From what I know that is an IPS tablet, not e-paper. They market it as e-paper like and have a extra reflective coating or two, but it's just a marketing gimmick - it's not e-paper at all.

E-paper has a persistent screen tech that is reflective like a paper with ink does, and the other has a more reflective coating on an IPS screen. They are very different. E-ink means it doesn't have to refresh the screen 30/60/120 times a second to maintain a stable image, it's refresh as needed and is truly reflective-only; that's a big difference with things like eye-strain.

Anyone willing to share impressions of this as an ereader? My wife uses her kindle almost daily.

We're about to have another kid so she's going to have a lot of down time for books but is it too heavy to one hand while she's got the baby in the other?

Right now she's using a normal kindle with a pop socket after our toddler spiked her old oasis and broke the screen. She loved her oasis and id love to get her something else

I love it. I use it on my train commute. The bigger screen is great to have and allows a lot more reading before page turns. I still use my oasis in bed as it's earlier to hold one handed and has physical page turn buttons.

This is what happened to me (most likely not the most ideal set of steps).
  1. I added the Kindle w/ Kindle Unlimited to the cart
  2. I checked out and added the promo code. It stated it was successfully applied, but the price didn't reflect it.
  3. I cancelled the checkout and re-checked out. The price now reflected the 15% off.
  4. I cancelled the checkout again, removed the item, and added the Kindle w/o Kindle Unlimited because the trade-in button didn't show up unless I did
  5. Once I added it, I went back to the product page to click on the trade-in button. Went through all the prompts.
  6. When I went back to checkout, the 20% off trade-in promo wasn't applying once more (but the 15% one was still applied)
  7. I removed the Kindle and re-added it once more. Finally, it showed both the 20% and the 15% off discounts.
I probably could have saved me all the trouble and time above by doing the trade-in prompts first, added the product to the cart, added the promo code, and then if that didn't work, re-checkout.
It's definitely a bit buggy in getting all the deals / not as Amazon intends.

I got a bundle that started at 308 after initial discounts (premium leather + 16gb scribe + charger) and had a ton of issues in checkout getting my 20% trade in offer that the system previously registered.

After contacting them they said they'd give me the 20% even though I kind of already got the 20%, but I didn't really complain. Still, it took not one but 4 support calls to actually get the extra 70 USD refunded as I had to wait for the scribe to arrive before getting the refund / it was confusing all around.

Still, 140 USD after all was said and done. YMMV but there are enough holes in these scribe and colorsoft deals that between the trade in offer, the coupons and support wrangling, walking away with a deal of the year is on the table on this one.

I received a separate 20% code and with trade in and Amazon visa card my final cost will be around 130$-140¢. KA2025 if it's not account linked. But you can definitely try 15% if you talk to CS. I tried that on another account as 20% won't work on that account

Can anyone comment on how much better the 9" screen is for people who like large fonts or are vision impaired?

Really like the concept but my paperwhite screen seems really tiny when you crank up the font size, feels like I am changing the page every 2 seconds (fast reader, bad vision)

Did anyone figure out how to reliably get the additional 15 or 20% off to stack with the trade-in?

Any idea how long these prices will run for? Continued past Prime Day and into the week I imagine?

I couldn't and not sure if anyone else has ironed out the exactsl steps. It's pretty much on your luck.

I would recommend searching a YouTube review. Not sure if BestBuy has it on display otherwise, you can check in person

How you started the conversation? Tips please!!
And I am not seeing the trade-in option at all. Which combo you got?
