Same price on Steam currently if you prefer Steam Deck/mod support or want to avoid the potential longer battle load times. Not sure if it is consistent, or if it is different when using Switch's system storage vs micro-SD storage, but the mentioned Youtube videos showing comparison of the various platforms loading into a battle sequence show the Switch sitting at a black screen about ~10 seconds or so longer than all of the others. If that happens with every battle I can imagine it would get super frustrating after just a handful of battles.

7, 8, and 9, are all great from the PS1 era. Of course, 9 isn't quite as epic or have the same gravitas as 7 and 8, but if you had been following the series back then since the NES and SNES era, it was really nice to bring back the super deformed characters, black mages in funny hats, etc!

The main complaint about this game is that the fights take forever so grinding is exhausting. But in the newer version there's a battle speed booster that makes trivial encounters enjoyable. So now the worst part of the game is how long it takes to save lol it takes just as long as it did on PS1. The character models look nice. Wish they had a scanline feature because the backgrounds are showing their age.

Not true. They are all good games but 7 has a way better story than 8 and 9. In my opinion it's the best story, but I would listen to arguments for 6 and 10.

7 is famous because of it's graphic and gameplay benchmark. It set a new standard regardless of storyline preference.

But X sucks.

Going back and playing X at all anymore its the most cringey game. The voice acting is abysmal and the "timing" of everyone's conversation, interaction, movements, feels so broken. Its like a really bad B movie.

no that's the last game I played and I liked it a lot. judging from the artwork of this game in this post, it seemed kinda similar
