I feel like this must be a joke but in case it's not; Orbit is about the most common residential irrigation controller brand in the U.S.

I would hope better quality. I had nothing but trouble with this brand to the point that I ripped out all out and threw it away

Orbit also makes some of the worst irrigation products on the market. They are the cheapest but the quality shows. That being said this is the only orbit product I use. The controller works as needed I have the outdoor 12 zone version and it's worked fine for 8 years.

I had a manual Rainbird controller at my old house and switched over to a Rachio wifi one in less than 10 minutes.
I'm going to purchase this one and switch from the manual Rainbird controller I have at my new place.

It's a pretty straightforward install. You connect the zones you have to the unit. Then connect the power and ground wires. Once you download the app, it will find the new unit to begin registration. My Orbit wifi controller has been going strong for 5 years.

Yes the "b" on the center of it is a button and you can use it to cycle through the zones.

I have been using this for 3 years now and it is great. The app is pretty basic but does everything you need and it's easy to use. It is also free to use. No subscription needed. It uses the weather forecast to set up rain delays and its surprisingly accurate. You can set up as many schedules as you want. I highly recommend this. Especially for the price.

I have a rainmachine (rachio?), it was great when I first got it like 10 years ago, but then it wanted monthly sub $$.

I had one that just randomly died. I called and they said "is it a solid light on the button, yeah it's dead, dead". Seems to be fairly common. It was less than a year old, so they did send me a credit to purchase a new one from their site. I read that the WiFi units that also have manual controls are more reliable, so I spent a little more and purchased one of those with the credit. Solid customer service, questionable unit in my experience.

Lol, it's meant to be super helpful for a ultra green lawn but not everyone needed that. I did the same thing and turn it off and did manual. I like how simple it is, screw the smart crap.

I've had this for about 3 years. Unit died about 9 months in but was replaced by manufacturer quickly. I don't find the smart rain feature very useful - sometimes it waters when it's been raining and sometimes it will skip a watering period (our community has strict watering guidelines) when it hasn't rained for a week. It does work well when I just manually set a watering schedule.
