Good deal. I hesitated at first because this has a proprietary thread pattern, so you can only use the Miracle-gro fertilizer bottles and they don't seem to be refillable, but I found a 3D printed adapter that lets you use any PET bottles.

Synthetic fertilizers do not harm microbes if used properly. Over applying is not the fertilizer's fault anymore than over using vitamins is the vitamin's fault. A molecule of nitrogen is a molecule of nitrogen. There's zero difference between a molecule of synthetic nitrogen and organic nitrogen, and neither plants nor microbes know the difference. Synthetic fertilizers are simply readily available, whereas even "finished," compost, and organic fertilizers need to break down before plants can use them. I use both in my garden. Microbes use fertilizers just like humans use vitamins and minerals. Look on the list of ingredients on a bottle of multivitamins and you'll see some of the same things in a synthetic fertilizer. I use Miracle Grow, but don't particularly like this product as the bottles are meant to be single use. I've used it in the past and it gets expensive. You can, with some effort, refill the bottles, but eventually they quit working. I use the other MG refillable hose end sprayer.

worst fertilizer you could ever use. use foxfarm products for best results. "Miracle-Grow has drawbacks. It's a synthetic fertilizer. it negatively impacts soil health by harming beneficial microbes and potentially leading to reliance on synthetic inputs. Over-application can also stress plants and contribute to environmental issues like water pollution. MG uses synthetic nitrogen sources like ammonium and water-soluble nitrates, which can be harmful to soil microbes, earthworms, and other beneficial organisms. When plants rely heavily on synthetic fertilizers, they can become less efficient at extracting nutrients from the soil on their own, leading to a cycle of dependence on external inputs.

You'll no doubt appreciate this Potting Mix test wherein Miracle-gro mopped the floor with FoxFarm's expensive products. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o...47Aw&t=36s

I'm sure they're all good for plants but don't buy too much into the hype. If I'm growing tomatoes in containers, that plant is gone after one season anyway, who cares what it "learns" from the fertilizer?
