HOW TO KILL WEEDS SAFELY IF YOU HAVE PETS:
Note: this is much more expensive than using Ortho concentrate, but works better, kills faster, and won't harm pets. It seems to kill anything. I only use it in my backyard because of the cost and I use Ortho-type in the front since my dogs don't go on my front yard. If you do this correctly, the weeds won't return any faster than if you used Ortho or Roundup.
Equipment: 1) 1-gallon pump sprayer like this one:https://www.amazon.com/Chapin-200...pl_dp&th=
I like this one because it's cheap and has a wide mouth. Don't get the 2 gallon version-- too much pumping.
2) 1 gallon concentrated vinegar like this:https://www.amazon.com/45-Pure-Vi...UR7ZOZYTAV This makes 2 gallons of mixture.
3) liquid dish soap, any kind will do
4) gloves (ie nitrite gloves)
5) mask, optional but it is strong smelling. This 45% vinegar is 9 times stronger than the kind you get in the supermarket.
Put on gloves and (optional) mask. The pure vinegar will burn your skin if you get it on you. Pour 1/2 gallon into the sprayer tank. Add 1/2 gallon of water. Add a couple squirts dish soap. Close the lid and shake. Pump till it's very hard to pump. Spray as close to the roots (ground) as you can or you will only be killing the leaves and stem. Do not worry about spraying the leaves unless they are very low-type weeds (ground cover type). This means a lot of bending over. Do this on a sunny day if you can. Direct sunlight makes this far more effective. Keep your dogs off the sprayed areas for at least a couple hours, longer if possible.
Within 3 hours you should notice dramatic effects, especially in direct sunlight. By the next day, everything should be dead (and usually pale in color), unlike Ortho, which can take weeks.

I've used every Roundup product out there. Vinegar, salt, and lil soap works just as well. It really does.
Don't the weeds grow back really quick? Traditional roundup has some kind of stuff that will keep the weeds down for three months or six months before they start growing again.I've used alternative weed killers before and they kill all the weeds . But then they start growing back immediately. Please Advise.

Vinegar burns the foliage but does not translocate to the roots to kill the plants. I think vinegar is a good alternative to control weeds but does not offer the same effectiveness on controlling perennial vegetation.
Sorry — but Absolutely disagree — 1000% …
