The best Panini maker I've had happen to be Bella brand. Bella makes a lot of cheap kitchen appliances. The Bella Panini maker is the only champion. I also own a $300 Panini maker. It was over engineered, and didn't make good Panini. It was heavy to move in out of storage to the kitchen. It was an art not to smash the bread when using it, more problems like this. I had a different maker that was moderate price which I thought would be a good one too. It was a nightmare.
It was the bell Panini maker that made great panni. I used to go on sale for $15, between 2010-2020.
Highly recommended . Small footprint. The weight of the top was perfect weight to press on the bread, without complicating adjustment settings (that always get me smashed bread anyway). It just works.
I'm eyeing today's deal Vicky it looks like it might have the winning characteristics of the Bella.
Also traditional Panini sandwich, the one with basil and tomatoes, is so doable and so damn good.
I love my Bella but I'm gonna get this one because I want to check it out .
And to conclude my autobiography I'd like to point out that Costco has brioche sliced bread . It comes in a two loaf package for about eight or nine dollars. You could make some tasty things with that bread in this Panini maker. Also, sourdough bread taste excellent in these things. And now Vons Stater Brothers and other supermarket or making their own bread. And strangely the sourdough is really quite good considering it it's made by unskilled workers. The procedure of making bread has been so codified that get all those complex fermented flavors for a pittance.
