W, you sure get so offended when people comment. The models are clearly different. pro 5i vs pro 7i. Yes people can read but what is the your point of posting that you posted something cheaper of a different model. At best it just confuses someone to click your link to learn its a different model.
There is a lot of differences besides the screen refresh rate for instance 4 speakers vs 2, better cooling on the pro 7i. Better cooling means cooler wasd or quieter fans. The 7i pro is built to cool the 5080 and 5090 as they use the exact same chasis. Hence you will significally better thermals on the pro 7i models that uses 5070ti gpu. extra 3rd fan to cool the middle area of the laptop vs only 2 fans on the pro 5i. Different port placements. Faster ddr5 6400mhz vs 5600mhz. 24 zone backlight vs individual keys. 300w vs 400w power brick. 99.9 whr for the 7i vs 80whr on 5i.

Didn't notice the 5i vs 7i, so thanks for the clarification and you're right with all those differences.
However, it still doesn't quite justify a $2000+ price tag, for both the deals, considering we've had 5070 Ti for much less from HP and Acer, and even 5080 with OLED and this processor for less than this.

Agreed, I think Lenovo makes a MUCH better laptop on average than HP Omen, but when we have had HP Omen Max with a 5080 for what was it 1500-1600? This feels harder to justify unless you need something TODAY.

Thx for calling out the differences. Lenovo also has the rep for better build quality
It is crazy that Lenovo legion becomes the most expensive gaming laptops in the market. They used to sell gaming laptops as the cheapest options when you combine with their all type of programs and coupons. Now, they barely offer discount coupon for their legion laptop. For example, gen 10 7i is consistently above $2k mark. The similar specs Alienwar aurora X, omen, ASUS are less than that.

Lowest was like $1489, but that price immediately raised to $1589, now it is $1721…😱😱😱 HP plays the dynamic pricing game.

Feels like you are comparing specs across different product tiers though? The Legion 7i build quality is higher than the x16 (despite weighing less), it has per key RGB backlighting. Lot of little things that make it a better laptop. Whether those are worth a couple hundred in premium is hard to say. Omen is similar vs a 7i. ASUS build quality is atrocious in the Helios lines.
I think what's happened is Legion has become the best gaming laptop lineup and they are pricing like that. They don't seem to feel the need to run big discounts to get sales, and frankly with all the craziness in tariffs I don't really blame them.
Personally I think there are only two "real" laptops this round. If you want the absolute best, you pay a premium for Legion, otherwise HP Omen Max is insanely good value with the sales they have been having.

Just 240Hz upgrade doesn't justify the price bump IMO.
