In terms of this actual deal, I have this bike. It's your typical 30 mph 48v bike. At $500, it's a good price. Typical squeeling cheap mechanical breaks, but it does in fact do 30mph and i've done 10miles plus with no issue. (I typically don't go further than 10 miles round trip, for that, i drive my car.) Worst case scenario you re-sell this bike on facebook marketplace, of which getting 400-500 should be do-able. Enough people own this bike that getting information online is reasonable on it.
As a note, i did eventually upgrade this bike to a 72v motor, controller and battery, but that's mainly because i wanted much more acceleration and liked to tinker.

Now this just around $530 including shipping is the best price I've seen.
So tempted to jump in...
The reason I have not bought one is I really want one but some part of me does tell me I don't need one.

does it always though I've seen various top speeds with the same watts motor but battery size varies not jus the the volts changing the top speed but the AH seems to play a factor I'm new to these products but going by power tools u do get a lot more performance out of the different amp hours on batteries
Repairability of ebikes sucks in general.

The scooter is actually way more practical and likely has more range.
Scooters can be easily folded and put into a car or stored inside.
Nothing against this bike, it's just a different application.
