For most other gens of the fenix, there was a point where the previous generation sapphire went down to like ~300. This isn't even that discounted compared to other gens.

I simply cannot comprehend such purchase decisions or opinions. You cannot expect a Fenix (any generation) to serve the same purpose and offer the same features as an Apple watch. I use mine for 1 month expeditions in the mountains, for triathlons, for daily training without the need for daily charging, for tracking all these things, and much more. I need extreme battery life, reliability, low risk of damage, and accuracy before anything else. Mine literally only comes off for charging and I do a lot with my hands. It has taken a beating yet still works.

I do not care about the dull 64 color screen or lack of fancy features. This was the target buyer of a Fenix watch until the Fenix 6 or even 7 came out. If Garmin is failing now, it's because they are trying to be more like Apple or Samsung, add more of those features, rather than focusing on what their core target buyer for a decade need or care about.

So now, the price is going up at an insane pace and features are added that I have no need for, which only make it more sluggish and prone to failure. I understand that I am one person, but there are many like me. For what it's worth, the Fenix 6 Pro was the best watch I ever owned, purchased on a father's day sale after it came out for $379 and only replaced it when the battery could no longer hold a charge long enough to serve my needs. But by modern day standards and expectations as those above, the Fenix 6 pro would be considered trash.

So my point here is that you should not buy a Fenix (or really build one) hoping it would perform like the Apple watch just like you shouldn't buy a 4Runner wishing you could take it to the track and make sharp turns at 100mph. Just my 2c

It's because the Fenix 8 is out.

Which one was better in your opinion. Epix Gen 2 still good? I'm thinking about picking up a refurbished Epix Gen 2 sapphire for 300 and 1 year warranty

Considering the same but make sure you look up reviews on the Felix 7 screen compared to the Elix
Coming from an Apple Watch I wouldn't be happy with a dull 64 color screen. Hoping we get some better deals for prime "day"

Funny thing is that FR965 and Epix/Fenix sharing the same CPU, but FR is so much smoother menu wise etc
You do pay for great customer support though. I got offered an upgrade to the 745 when my 645 broke even though it was week it is warranty. I did have to pay for the upgrade but it was very reasonable since I could no longer wear the old watch when the watch broke where the band attached to the watch face.

What exactly can an apple watch do that Garmin can't? If your watch is getting slow have you tried a factory reset?

I think you missed the whole point that I was making in response to the other post. My Garmin watch with a mip screen (now a 7 pro but any of them) cannot take calls or doesn't have a bright, colorful screen and there are other differences. But my point is that it was and is what I need and what I have been using for a long time. It is what got me to the top of 5 of the 7 summits and many other frozen peaks, or to the end of many triathlons and ultra marathons or rock climbing. And I do a lot with my hands. I never cared if I got some cement or dirt or paint over spray on it , it will come off. An apple watch would and could not have done that. Nor a Samsung watch or any other watch. I see the apple watch (and could me wrong here) as a daily driver for the normal person who wants a device that can do it all, do it well, and be fashionable at the same time. Not to mention that an apple of watch only works in the Apple ecosystem which not everyone is a part of.

That offer lasted like 2 hrs. Did it ship?
Just got a "order update, we'll ship in 8-17 business days, your card hasn't been charged" email. Wondering if this is the "we tried but we just can't ship it" process instead of just being like "we made a price error and we're not honoring it".

I read it as "we will charge your card when we ship it and not before". So that is a positive in my book. Hope you get it. Heck of a deal!

$500 is about what this is worth. The Fenix 7 won't be receiving any more major updates.

They wouldn't give me much to help me out with my 2 year old Vivoactive 4 with a touch screen that no longer works. Just a 20% of code for a new Vivoactive at full MSRP.

I found their customer service to be lacking. I was expecting more since I've heard good things from more than one person.

Maybe they pull out more stops if you buy a more expensive watch from them.
