That's like telling me if Lazarus got a S2 and how it isn't halfway done yet. No, it was bad. The chances of it having a season that is redeems the first one is unlikely. Possible, sure, but super unlikely.
Trigun was best when it was weirdo super-powered apocolyptic cowboy getting into shenanigans and miraculously saving the day with his friends occassionally. All of the serious backstory I guess gives it a bow to tie up the story but ultimately wasn't at its best.
The animation for Stampede was pretty at least, but that's about all I can say for it.
