The product information indicates that the inner liner of the Zojirushi Hybrid Water Boiler & Warmer has a non-stick coating containing PTFE, which is a material commonly used for non-stick coating in cookware and is FDA approved.

But zojirushi water boilers, and rice cooker are the only exceptions we make. Water only reaches 212 degrees max, and we've never seen any peeling or flaking in many years of use. I wish it was stainless, but the convenience out weighs eating out and eating processed foods. Choose your battle.
edit: I lied, we use a silicone spoon in the rice cooker to avoid scratching. Also, soak it in water before washing, dried rice and the included spoon will scratch it.
Otherwise I agree, avoid seed oils, plastics, processed foods, ptfe, enjoy the sun and exercise.

I've tried a bunch of cheaper brands on amazon. They seem to last a couple years at most before the electronic dispenser malfunctions or the internal tank rusts and springs a leak. The zoji is priced at a premium but it's outlasted the cheaper ones many times over.
