Was so tempting, I had it in my cart even though I absolutely don't need another TV.

Anyways, be careful of the Handy wall mounting. I used the service, but they ended up messing up the install. If you don't know, TV over 65 inch or so needs to at least 2 installers but the way Handy works, is that they grab from a pool of independent contractors, who usually work by themselves. So that means the 2 people they have installing most likely don't even know each other. Secondly, the skill level of the installers can widely vary. I was getting set up with people who have no jobs completed on their system. The way it works, is that you have a 'main' installer, then the 2nd person is the 'assistant'. But what can happen is that the 'main' guy could have no experience whatsoever and the 'assistant' could be more experienced than them. But don't assume the assistant will fix the 'main' installer issues. They only get paid and are only responsible for themselves. So typically you assume it would work as a team, but you absolutely can be in a situation where it's everyman for themselves.

First installers setup with me didn't even come. Second installers messed up the install.

Long story short, my install wasn't done correctly, it's not leveled, and the installer put multiple holes in my wall. I'll need to find someone to come fix it eventually, maybe I'll just fix it myself because it really isn't that difficult, you just need to take your time ("measure twice and cut once, etc..." and have someone else to help - I didn't but I can find someone if need be). The service can work, but it's a very weird system and off-putting.

What about if you're just replacing an already mounted TV? Will they just help you swap it?

Depends on whoever you get really, it seems they get paid to show up and the hours they spend on the job. Whatever they have to do is dependent on their own comfort apparently. You literally can get someone who probably only watched a few YT videos on installing a TV or you can get someone who has done 100s of them...that's why you need to check the ratings and # of jobs before you let them come over. It's basically Uber for contractors/handymen. I think you can put in comments when you make a job request or at least contact them before they come over, so they can back out if they find out it's a redo or at least you can cancel/ask for a new contactor.

That's was my fault on my first appointment, I let someone who was new to the system and no rankings accept the job. Luckily he never showed up. The 2nd guy had a few rankings, but oddly no reviews. That should've tipped me off. He's was a nice guy but it wasn't done properly and after spending hours at my house, I just want to be done with it. I think doing the traditional research and get 3 quotes way of doing things is safer. You can do your research beforehand and figure out the best deal. With Handy, you have to be setup with a contractor first before you can 'work' with them. It makes it a bit unwieldly if you find out whoever is assigned to you don't meet your standards because you need to cancel the appointment and there isn't any good way to research who is doing your install other than Handy's built-in system.

The TV is up on the wall, but it's obviously not level. I might go with BestBuy to fix, at least there is a company behind it and the installers you get will at least know each other (make sure they work for BestBuy, I heard sometimes BB will contract it out).

It needs free soundbar, otherwise it is the same price after the tax that was offered by Greentoe for a week or two.

Can someone please help me to understand the difference between the LG (direct purchase) vs Costco warranty?
Should I pay $350 extra at Costco compared to LG site for additional warranty?

No. Once you type a code and apply it, you won't be able to type another code unless you remove the 1st one.

Fantastic price. But I seriously still want the G4 77 but unfortunately most places have it locally for $3,000.
What you really want is the G5 77". It blows away the G4.

With LG you get only one year included (2 or 3 years protection can be added for a fee) while Costco 5 years coverage is included in the price. Weather you need the extra warranty is up to you but, if I am getting an extended warranty, it will be through Costco because of their excellent customer service.
Also, If you decide to go with the basic LG warranty, see if you have any credit card that will add another year of coverage for free. Check with the card issuer for included benefits.

I just did the Greentoe deal for $1649. It might be a push because with Greentoe the taxes were included in the $1649.
