This worth it over SmartThings Zigbee/Matter compatible leak detectors?
I have SmartThings and I also have Yolink. Yolink is so much better. The batteries last years instead of months or at the most a year and the range is amazing because it uses LoRa. My under sink and hot water tanks have sensors that haven't needed batteries in almost 4 years. I have an open/closed sensor mounted on a gate on my property about 1000 feet away and I get a strong signal inside my house. My mailbox is about 1/4 mile away and I get an alert when my mail is delivered. I can remotely control the garage door on my shop 600 feet from the house. Yolink really should get more attention because LoRa is so much better than Wifi, Zigbee, or Z-Wave.

I was planning to buy more YoLink stuff until I had a smart outlet fail within the warranty and it is crickets from their "support". Can't see myself spending more money on their stuff if they don't honor a warranty.
I've never had a problem with their support on the rare occasion I needed to reach them.

Sorry if i am hijacking this thread. I have a yolink flowsmart all-in-one water valve for a month but don't understand why it is called "smart", whenever i use water it will alert me there is water leakage and it seems that it cant tell apart real leakage from regular water use, did i set my expectation too high? I heard some other brand will learn from the water usage habits and is smart to shut off the valve if there is indeed a leakage.

I understand when paring with individual water leakage sensors the valve would work beautifully.

Their support is actually quite good. Maybe send this to them?

Well I sent a request for a replacement to "[email protected]" like their website says. No response. Guess I can just try spamming the account or something.

Just got these. The build quality for the price seems great. Issues I have is 1. No replaceable batteries that I see. says 5 year battery life but still throw away after that which might be okay with todays tech.

2. No google home support. That is my fault for not double checking that feature.

App interface is pretty bad I would say on par with 1st gen China products.

Will I return? probably not. will throw them under the sinks and set the app alert.

LOL. Of course the battery is replaceable.

Also WRT to google, which I don't use, a simple search reveals:

https://shop.yosmart.com/pages/ys1603-support

which says:

Does the YoLink Hub work with Google Home?
Yes, the YoLink Hub can be integrated with Google Home. Please note that in the Google Home App, you will only see YoLink devices, not the YoLink Hub itself.

App interface? It's just fine. Have had no issues and I've been using them now for almost 3 years. What are you looking for? Pretty, or functional?

Yolink sensors tend to be more expensive than others, and the way you configure alarms and alerts in the app is... Weird. But once it's setup, it's completely bulletproof and you never have to worry about it. Very well made, extremely long battery life and range. And I love that the speakerhub let's me tell it what words to speak for an event rather than just an alarm sound.

How often are there deals on just the sensors? If I need to order for 12 or 20 extra sensors, do those ever go on sale?

I think so. The range alone on these is much better.

I'm a big fan of the YoLink devices. I already have 4 of the leak sensors so this isn't for me, but I recommend them to anybody that asks. I also have the temperature & humidity sensors in my refrigerator and garage freezer. I was dubious that the signal would travel through the metal body of the fridge/freezer, but it does. Good stuff.
I tested this out in my freezer as well. Works amazing.

What sensor did you use for the mailbox ?
And what did you use to control the garage door with this ?
I love how good the range is.
