?
16GB Ram and 1TB on such killer build is not enough, you will likely add some RAM and Storage to it, give or take $400, the total price is now $4400.
Lets say you use get 10% from card rebates - the effective cost is $4000
If you manage to get a 5090 FE from BestBuy, the total cost of a manual build with a decent case, PSU and good RAM/Storage will be slightly more, with better warranty and RMA options - my projected cost for an Ultra 9/ 9800x3d build comes at around $4250-$4350 (assuming you are not investing $400 in fans 😂) and for 9950x3d it is approx $4600
I prefer paying extra and assembling it myself, the Warranty is just better and I will have more customization such as upgrading to another card, or adding a second card to increase VRAM for LLMs. Also down the line, the FE will fetch me a better price (hoping its not recalled due to cable melt)
I will not say that this is a killer deal, but it is a NICE deal.
NOTE: I think the current stock situation is bound to improve in the coming months, just the other day I was able to get an Open-Box Excellent Astral from BestBuy for $2687 (I didn't buy it as I already have a 5090), I have seen other cards going for as low as $2400 now. I was able to buy RTX 5090 FE directly from BestBuy virtual sales with diligent calling efforts for a week.
