FYI Home Depot has the same one for 99.99 on sale and if you have military it will stack. I snagged one for 89.99. So if you have military Home Depot is a couple bucks cheaper and in addition with certain CB sites giving 6% CB. If no military you can get it directly from amazon or Eufy

It has connections that allow it to be hardwired. It requires the battery to be installed for this work as it runs off the battery and hardwiring it just keeps the battery charged. So as long as the solar panel can put out the correct voltage/amps it shouldn't be an issue.

From Eufy's site:

"Note: Wired mode requires the battery to be installed and a power source power should be connected with 8 to 24V and >10VA."

  • Can connect with your existing chime, or pair with eufy HomeBase S280, eufy HomeBase S380, eufy Minibase Chime (T8023), Alexa devices, and Google Voice Assistant devices. Note: Not compatible with the original eufy Wi-Fi Chime (T8020) or eufy Chime (T8740/T8742).
  • Compatible with HomeBase S380 with firmware version V3.3.2.6 and above.

From experience, you'll need > 30VA transformer for it to trickle charge. Anything lower wont recharge, but does prolong how long a single battery charge last

From experience for hardwired charge to work, you'll need >30VA transformer. It won't charge lower, but does extend the life of a single battery charge

sorry if dumb questions -but can i just screw it to the door frame? i do not have a doorbell ๐Ÿ˜ and will it run on batteries only? and time between an actual event and when you get the notification? and does it need subscription? ( i currently have 3 laview cameras - they take great pictures and video without subscription- but it takes 6 mins or longer for it to notify me ( alot can happen in the 6 minute notification) i would prefer a more instant notification. (Thank you in advance)

I just ordered this for my home, so not totally sure about what kind of delay to expect. But I do have a Eufy camera above my garage door and it alerts almost instantly. This will run off the battery only, you'll just need to recharge every so often. As far as mounting this, it does come with some plastic anchors with the mounting screws that should work for concrete/brick. That's how I plan to mount mine.

Tried wiring it to my existing mechanical chime. The instructions say to not use a jumper on your chime. Anyways, when ringing doorbell the chime tune only plays for 2 seconds. Anyone know the issue?

I had a wired Google Nest before, and I had the same issue when the Nest's internal battery started to go. The Eufy's battery is fully charged and hard wired
