How comfortable are these compared to Bose Quietcomfort which are on sale too on Amazon? When I tried previous model of this and Bose back in 2019, Sony's were too hard on my ears and had to take out after listening for an hour.

I don't know about Bose, but I've got kind of a big head, big ears, and I wear glasses. I've worn these on multiple 12+ hour flights, wearing them the whole flight, plus in the airport during layovers. I've had cheaper headphones (urlhasbeenblocked) that would be painful after a couple of hours. These I barely notice. I love them.

Secondipity is awesome and I got my 2nd set (after mine was stolen) but it is returned items, this is only 26 bucks more for brand new from Costco with the costco coverage. Sweet deal and the best set of headphones for anc. I compared it to my mil bose, my buddies sennheiser and jbl and these are easily the best for lawn mowing and airplane rides.

My hinges on the xm4 blew up.

My new xm6, hinges feel kind of iffy already. Will I ever learn not to buy these. NEVERRR..

Do your ears still touch the foam inserts inside? Bose angles there dust filters so your ears don't touch through inserts

Caution to anyone buying these: research the widespread hinge failures on these. They seem to break very easily, and they updated the hinge design on the XM6 for likely that reason.

The 5s have different hinges and it fixes this exact problem the 4s have (and 1-3)

the 6 uses the same mechanism as the 5 and should last much better than 1-4. i don't know why it feels iffy to you but it's not exactly the most rugged. I started using my 5s without the case when traveling and it's still miles better than the old hinge.

I mean sure, but it definitely reintroduces a much worse hinge problem. A few months back before the 6's released you could see the sony headphones reddit page and there were a sea of XM5 hinge fault posts. Some theorize it was due to the recyclable plastic that they added on newer models.
