Due to a hardware issue in which they cannot fix, there "was" a line going across the screen and below that line the screen was a slightly yellowish white. The way they "fixed" this hardware defect was to change the background screen color to the same slightly yellowish white as the defect to hide the hardware defect.
To me this is not a fix but a workaround.
In addition, they were not able to do 300dpi in color so they overlayed a 150dpi color screen over the standard paper white 300dpi screen. This causes the b/w text to be not as sharp as a standard paper white. In addition, anything in color is only half resolution.
For the price they are charging, this is unacceptable to me and I will wait until they can show color in the full 300dpi and not require a two-screen kludge.
