This was one of the best routers on the market when it released. It's still great.

is this worth getting to replace my aging ASUS AC3100? Most of the phones in the house are Wifi 7 now. Should I just wait and grab a Wifi 7 router when they're cheaper?

It lasted about a year for me until it quit working and require a reboot to fix. Even custom firmware didn't fix the issue.

This is because usually the issue I have discovered is in the power supply and not the router. The capacitors tend to dry out and that causes the power voltage to have electrical noise, which impacts the wifi and stability as one of the first symptoms.

$160 to extend my WiFi 6 network or $450 RT-BE96U and use my existing ax86u to extend with wired backhaul? Wondering if it's time to upgrade to WiFi 7 and whether it's worth another $300.

I think I have similar problem relating to the capacitor. Do you have a link for the power supply replacement?

I don't understand gaming router. Would not ethernet be better? I use a long Cat 8 Ethernet cable from a fiber optic source to a LOQ laptop getting 500/500 Mbps. Idle, download and upload ping is 7, 12, 6. What am I missing?

I finally replaced my tmobile asus 1900 with a 6e comcast modem/router. If you use their router, you get unlimited data (I was getting charged for a lot of overages). I don't know if I did the right thing. I would have bought something like this RT-AX86U Pro instead( a highly rated device) but was happy to save the money.

The Be96u has a coupon to take it down to 429.99. You can also try getting another 10 off with the Discover card offer.

Unfortunately, I don't because in the last few years, I have been fixing the power adapters instead of spending money on a new adapter and creating more electronic waste. You can search at Amazon and get the one with good reviews. Make sure it is the exact voltage and at least the wattage of the original one.
