17 inch??? Yikes. I thought it took a long time to mow with my 21".
Not self-propelled.
With the 40-minute runtime, I'd need 3 to 4 batteries to mow what takes me an hour and a half with my 21-inch self-propelled gas mower.
How is this getting likes?

Not everyone has acreage. This is perfect for someone with a lot or 2.

I strongly disagree.
I don't have "acreage" either! < 1/3 acre. This is perfect only for someone with a very small yard. I don't even have a double-size lot. I cannot justify a rider, or I would have one.
I can't speak for this lawnmower specifically but I do have the 25" cut Greenworks 60v and it has impressed me greatly with how much it can mow on a single charge. I generally have enough from one 4AH battery to mow between .25 and .33 acres, then switch the battery over to the string trimmer and do a trim for about 10 minutes and finally move it to the leaf blower to clean the clippings out from inside and on the lawnmower. That is with going up and down steep hills in self propelled mode during the whole time. I was worried about runtime before getting the mower but I am very happy with that unit. This would obviously take a lot more time at 17" cut, but I mainly am commenting to say that it may run for a longer time on a battery than you think. I would definitely recommend a larger cut swath such as 21" over this, even for a small yard but this would still get the job done I'm sure.
