I have 50+ different cards being used in security cams and 6 dashcams, and while I've had 10 or so regulars (i was being stubborn and cheap) fail over the past few years, all of the sandisk/samsung endurance ones have been running fine 24/7

Are these any better than a regular card? Or is this marketing hype?

I have dozens of these in security cams and zero failures in 3-4 years. I have previously purchased some 64GB for 10 bucks so this 128 for 13 is a great deal.

would that apply even when the product is sold and shipped by Amazon?I'd figure that since Amazon is directly selling these, that they'd source it from SanDisk, and hopefully not a sketchy 3rd party

According to ChatGPT, these (High Endurance) are actually preferred versus the more expensive Max or Max Pro versions for continuous video surveillance as the latter are for quicker transfer with higher burst rate. My only concern would be the size: both the capacity and longevity of a 128GB card recording 4K continuously would only net 18 hours on loop and last about 7 months (!!) whereas you would get double and triple those numbers if you went with the 256GB or 512GB cards respectively.

So these cards would be great choices, but not necessarily for continuous recording (i.e. on motion only)

Is that true? Can one of you nerds confirm and/or add anything?

I have these on all of my cams and raspberry pi. No issues at all. They all run 24x7

The only one failed for me was SanDisk.

Someone on reddit compiled the calculated endurance in TBW (terabtyes written) based on published specs (hours of recording at specified bitrate): https://www.reddit.com/r/raspberr...ompared_w/

Yes, the risk of receiving counterfeit memory cards (video cards, and others) applies even when buying products listed as "sold and shipped by Amazon." This is due to Amazon's commingled inventory system, where identical products from multiple sellers (including Amazon itself, authorized distributors, and third-party sellers) are mixed together in the same warehouse bins. When you place an order, Amazon simply picks from this mixed inventory from the closest location to you (the best, cheapest logistical route) , regardless of the original supplied source.

On the Sandisk site, they're $23.99 so this is about 50% off. Sweet deal!
Will not give me the option to link. Go to shop.sandisk.com and search for High Endurance microSDXC card

Purchased the 256gb version a couple months ago and the card is already failing. My 4K dash cam constantly tells me the card isn't fast enough which is disappointing as this card is marketed for dash cam use.

Usually Samsung match Amazon sales, any links to that?
