For washing cars anything over 1.0 gpm and under 2000psi is more than enough. Just make sure to use the white tip (40 degree) for cars. Anything other than washing the car i would say this is a bit weak. Still a decent deal though.
Even too weak to do the sidewalk in front of a home?

Lowes comes with a 25 degree tip, Amazon 40. For higher powered gas pressure washers, 40 is recommended so you don't damage the paint. But with a weaker electric washer like this, 25 is probably better. You can always increase the distance between you and the object being cleaned.
Lowes product details indicates the following:
Includes: Premium spray wand and 20-ft non-marring, high-pressure hose; (3) Spray nozzles – Turbo, 25° and 40°; Soap Applicator

I need something to pressure wash the sides of my house and clean the cars. Will this be sufficient? 1.1 GPM seems low.

Cars, yes, house ... no. What type of siding do you have?

This or the similar Ryobi one? Or they're the same?

Great find. I think this may be a better option for me. The reviews on the link you provided (and I purchased) seem to be a lot better. Either way they both come with a 3 year tool warranty.

Was just about to purchase a new pressure washer. Any reason to get the more expensive Ryobi over this?

Reviews are decent, can anyone who owns provide any insight on this?
For me this one has been very resilient since it has gotten turned on by accidnet twice for me with no water attached. It survived this when one of those times it was on for hours(left my house came back to it on). That said mine finally had the built in GFCI die after 3 years as my unit got soaked too many times.
It is perfect for car washing and the fluid attachment works perfect for soaping the car down(not as nice as foam cannons but good enough). I use it for sidewalks/driveways/brick/side of house and it does those jobs even if a bit slower than the nice gas pressure washer I had before.
The main reason to buy this is how small it is and noise and fume reduction vs gas. At this price it is crazy good just as a car washer and saves the purchase of a separate foam cannon IMO.

I bought the one from Lowes. Is Ryobi better than Greenworks in this case at all?

I bought this one a few weeks ago and had planned to use it for washing my car and washing the deck. At the $59 price for the greenworks, I'm just going to keep the Ryobi on my deck and buy the greenworks for my car washing. (with that sad I really like the Ryobi the few times I've used it).
