So many friggin deals on these packages. I just wanted a drill that I could use for most things around the house. I want to get the Bosch GR12V because of the size and different tips, but the Milwaukee starter sets from Home Depot looked good too. I just don't know if I would need two types of drills....

The impact is handy to have around for most things automotive and lawn/garden, where impact force is preferable to the twisting torque that the drill provides.

if you don't have a drill at all, I would recommend this DeWalt combo package... you can use the drill for anything around in and around your house, and you can use the impact driver for and screws/bolts you may need to fasten something with. they both are useful to have.

You're talking about the impact wrench for cars, the Amazon deal is for the impact driver, two different tools.

This is a great deal. Batteries alone are worth this price. Not sure why this isn't getting more attention. Yeah, they aren't XR. But a steal at this price for the average home owner's "around the house" projects. Repped!

In what world are two 1.5 AH batteries $130?

Not everyone needs top of the line tools. This will probably handle a vast majority of homeowners' needs. That said, I'll commit the SD sin of saying there are better deals without sharing any links. I'd take anything Skil or Kobalt over this set of old brushed tools with bottom of the barrel batteries. I'm not being hyperbolic. There aren't any weaker batteries in the DeWalt lineup. Every week this deal comes up and gets thumbed down. It's like some bot keeps reposting it.
