So much for the tariffs pumping the price. I fell for the fearmonger and bought at msrp. This is a pretty good cpu and especially at this price
Yep. That's why you don't listen to people who start up with the doomsday talk any time something is just speculation. Before the end of last year, I was considering trading in my PS5 towards a PS5 Pro, and a friend of mine was like, "Dude. You need to do it right now then, because when Trump gets back in, it's going to go up to $1,000. All of this stuff is going to go up to ridiculous prices. No one is going to be able to get anything anymore." I laughed and told him to chill and to wait and see what actually happens. He just kept swearing up and down that he knew better than me. Now he acts like he never said that stuff. Fear mongering is all the rage these days. Tons of people fall for it.
I'm still using a 5800x3d. To those getting this, prepare to never upgrade again!
I cannot justify an upgrade anymore. I just got myself a 64gb ddr4 kit and I think I'm set for another 5 years.
And despite 4k gaming being around for ten years now, proper frame rate is unachievable without sacrifices or by spending excruciating amounts of money. Looks like the industry has once again stagnated
Best Buy will match this if you talk to support, at least that is what worked for me since I didn't want to drive all the way to the nearest Microcenter.
Tried a couple agents. First one wouldn't do it because the model numbers between the two websites didn't match. Second agent price matched it.

I had a similar problem. It's because like you said, the model numbers from Best Buy and Microcenter don't match up. The agent was trying to tell me that the Microcenter sku doesn't come with a heatsink. I almost keeled over laughing. Had to tell him AMD doesn't ship a heatsink on these new CPUs. Eventually he realized how ridiculous it was and said they would match it.
