I bought 3 of these. 1 had a broken hose bracket, another was missing accessories and stuff to install it, another one failed 4 days before the 90 day return period. Returned all 3 of them. Like the other poster said, it's Russian roulette.

Bit the bullet and ordered. Purchased this same unit from Costco last week for $429 with the reassurance of returning it and the extra protection should it fail or I find a more competitive price. Viola.

Noticed this one includes a 1 year warranty offered from Midea directly. Purchased it with my CC that offers an extended warranty. In reading the prior comments from the link posted by @mja28, it seems this is a hit or miss when it comes to reliability. Anyone deal with a warranty experience after the return period expired?
I don't think it has 1 year warranty from Midea. It says explicitly that the one year warranty is for Restored: Premium units and not the "Like New" ones. This one is listed as "Like New" and only has 90 day free returns from what I understand.

"What is Walmart Restored?
This restored Walmart Restored product has been professionally inspected, tested, and cleaned and tested by a Walmart performance managed seller or supplier. Restored items are offered in 4 conditions: Premium, Like New, Good, and Fair. Restored: Like New, Good, and Fair products come with a 90-day free return. Restored: Premium products come with a minimum 1-year warranty (except select vacuum cleaners where noted on product page)."

I ordered this a few months ago and right out of the box it had an error code of EC54. Something about the compressor. Although I was within the return window of Walmart, I called Midea. They were terrible and refused to warranty it stating that it was a refurbished unit and therefore they would not warranty it. I ordered a second one and that one works fine. Russian roulette is correct. Do not plan on Midea offering any warranty.

I did not see the extended warranty plan when I bought it because usually it is on the product page. Looks like the link above might work but that is technically for units to start at $200 and this one is $199.

2 year $16 https://www.walmart.com/ip/410156...5baa6b3549

3 year $22 https://www.walmart.com/ip/356520...42a6b81e80

Keep in mind worst case you will likely just get your $200 back if you need to use it. Not a working unit replacement. But at $7-8/year seems worth it.

Anyone know the maximum length of the hoses? I have an older Honeywell that came with a 47" hose which was not long enough to reach the window in the room we use it in. I had to order a longer 78" hose from Amazon for that one. I can't find any information on the length of the hoses on this Midea.

I got an old ass no name 6000 BTU window AC that struggles to keep a room, within my garage, cooled enough passed 90F and will tap out at 97F unless I go outside and give the unit and radiator a good hosing. I've been looking to get an inverter or LG dual inverter type with how insane the electric bill has become here in SoCal. I guess I'll buy this as a trial run and return it on October before the 90 day return expires because these comments make these Midea refurbs super sketch lol
I would upgrade to a larger window unit. They work much better than portable if you have the window or opening that can support it. I have a portable unit but thermodymically, it's just not very efficient since the heat generating parts are basically inside the house that's why newer portable unit always have two ratings, the smaller of the two btu rating is what's equivalent to a window unit.

Do you know if this unit has a window AC equivalent BTU? The AC I currently have is an Arctic King 6000 BTU from 2015 lol I'm hoping this Midea 12000 BTU with inverter is just plain better and energy saving at least for the next three months when it is peak summer. The Walmart reviews are terrible, which is why I am not keeping it no matter what.

I bought 2 on the previous deal. They both run almost constantly but that might be because each one is trying to cool a whole floor.

Considering buying another for my exercise room.
