Noticed this one includes a 1 year warranty offered from Midea directly. Purchased it with my CC that offers an extended warranty. In reading the prior comments from the link posted by @mja28, it seems this is a hit or miss when it comes to reliability. Anyone deal with a warranty experience after the return period expired?
"What is Walmart Restored?
This restored Walmart Restored product has been professionally inspected, tested, and cleaned and tested by a Walmart performance managed seller or supplier. Restored items are offered in 4 conditions: Premium, Like New, Good, and Fair. Restored: Like New, Good, and Fair products come with a 90-day free return. Restored: Premium products come with a minimum 1-year warranty (except select vacuum cleaners where noted on product page)."
I did not see the extended warranty plan when I bought it because usually it is on the product page. Looks like the link above might work but that is technically for units to start at $200 and this one is $199.

3 year $22 https://www.walmart.com/ip/356520...42a6b8
Keep in mind worst case you will likely just get your $200 back if you need to use it. Not a working unit replacement. But at $7-8/year seems worth it.

Considering buying another for my exercise room.

Thanks, totally worth it. But this one doesn't specifically say for restored units. I think the 200 to 399 one does. Also I called Walmart and Allstate to see if I can add this and the only way to do so is to return the unit and repurchase it. Also same thing to get the price match, Even though I bought it only two weeks ago. Not a possibility for me to go through that process at this point. Thank you though!
The unit could still work spread out the way you've planned but it isn't recommended.
If it's SUCHHHH a big deal, why after all this time are almost all portable AC's still single hose? Red flag.
It's a nice idea that appeals cleanly to our minds. We can repeat it to friends, spread it around, it makes so much sense! And that technology connections video! Everybody loves technology connections!
But I think in practice it makes little difference. Life isnt always neat and clean.
Yeah almost nobody even manufactures dual hose portable AC's. And I have a feeling the one that are produced, are just for marketing appeal to that small internet demographic that obsesses over the two hose thing. Not because they actually work better. Because why hasn't anybody done a side by side controlled test of dual vs single hose on YT showing the BIG GAINS yet? Seems sus
Could be wrong, shrug.
That's why window units are sooo much better thermodynamically. I know not everyone can use a window AC, but they cool sooo much better with the equivalent amount of electricity.
