I recently replaced one of my fire tablets that I run Home Assistant dashboard with a TBSPG100110027. The specs are slightly different than this one, but it runs a HA dashboard way better than a fire tablet.

I had the first gen of the Onn 10' Pro it had minimal bloat, it was good for a streaming apps like ReVanced YT + music apk, PurpleTV for twitch, and manga reader. Disable Chrome, install Firefox with Ublock Origin extension .

Tip: Turn off window and transition animations in developer options (tap build to unlock developer options) to make it feel less sluggish.

I have this for a Unifi Camera touchscreen monitor. For the price, it works pretty well. It's not great by any means but able to display 4 cameras at same time and see what's going on.

Good clarification. I run fully kiosk on all of my wall tablets to take advantage of motion screen wake and a few other things.

Not a lot, honestly. Especially since wifi Tablets aren't as locked down as phones. The main purpose of rooting is to remove as much fat as possible (or as practical) to get more performance out of the device.
Especially if you're setting it up as utility tablet for say a home automation system or security cameras you might want to remove anything that will interrupt that.

I bought the refurbished 128GB version from the last deal for $59, but I was stuck at the initial setup screen. Many have experienced the same problem. You can check out the previous thread. Many tried to find a flashable rom to fix it with no luck. I contacted Onn, but they don't provide support for tablets. That is something you may consider if you want to buy this tablet.
