This is a product naming which is causing confusion. I do not know if it is deliberate. They could have called Desktop 5090 as D5090 and Mobile version as M5090 and so on.

Wow, the power adapter alone is as heavy as some laptops. That being said, I think the weight of the setup is fine for the intended customers. These machines are probably left on a desk 99% of the time and just need to be portable enough to take between LAN setup locations.

The 24GB of v-ram would sure run some nice LLM models though.
