I think "select accounts" means first time app purchase which is a little misleading.

I've made multiple purchases from Samsung over the years and at least one has been in the app and I see a $50 discount.

Never seen or heard of "select account" targeting for EPP/EDU.

Trading in an S9 Ultra comes out to $412.49 before taxes/fees for me for the 256GB model.

If you have a work email address, try it out on plum benefits, corporate shopping, and there's a few others. That would give you EPP. Keep in mind, they may have changed things, but like a year or two ago, this still worked, just haven't done it in a while so can't confirm.

For EDU, you can usually buy one for like $5 - $20. Maybe search on reddit for a reliable source so you don't get hosed, but there are websites out there, usually the ones that cater to scalpers also have EDU emails.

EDU discounts are almost always the best on Samsung. Plus you can then use it to sign up for other EDU services that only use email verification. If you do buy one, don't wait to use it. They can be deactivated after some time but it's still well worth it imo for the savings.

edu email alone won't work
i have alumni edu email access but when i try using that, id.me wants me to verify current enrolled status

so i guess even if you're buying one, it needs to be currently enrolled

That sucks, my account is from before they started doing the id.me stuff and they've never asked me for that but my last purchase was S24U so maybe they will at some point.

See if Student Beans has any Samsung discounts. If you can create an account there and click through, it might let you bypass the id.me, but it's just a random idea to try.

Can the deal be stacked with a trade in?
If you need an EDU/EPP access, check your work benefits. Even smaller companies have access to employee prices through the service providers like Perks at Work. Of course, YMMV, but it's worth trying.

These drop in value in six months more than a new car off the lot! Older galaxy tablets barely fetch $100 in the used resale market!
