I got one of these for 135 on the Best Buy deal. They are pretty cool.
I would also recommend these grips which are sale for ten bucks, so you don't sling this thing across the room from sweaty hands. Plus I love the feel of them.
PSP is so old at this point you're better off going with one of those emulator android handheld things, and there are a million of them. IF IF IF all you want to do is older/emulation stuff. This plays everything your PS5 plays. PEFECTLY. I had a Vita and it felt old when I had it, 10 years ago? Yeah this thing is a streamer, but if you just want to play games around the house while someone else is watching TV, it's perfect. The screen is big, 8 inches and it looks GREAT. The controller is basically a wide PS5 joystick. In fact it CAN even be used as a secondary joystick on PS5. It is SO much lighter than a steam deck, and the screen is SO much better. It is a joy to hold and use. Oh and it's 1/4th the price of a steam deck.
Can you PS Remote Play on a laptop or a tablet or a phone? Sure. Will you get a good controller experience? Nah.
Can you use it out of the house? If your internet upstream connection is good (and you should probably hardware your PS5 to the router) with some tinkering some have had very good success playing remotely via cell phone hotspot. Check out the reddit thread for details = https://www.reddit.com/r/PlaystationPortal/
Does it require internet connection even if you're on same wifi? Sadly yes bc it talks to PSN for the Remote Play streaming and updates etc.
Honestly this thing is just such a joy to hold and play with (especially with those grips I listed earlier, they are AWESOME) I've been going through my endless PS4 back catalog / PS+ catalog while the Mrs watches whatever on the TV.
Can you use it without a PS5? Yeah but you have to subscribe to PS+ Premium to stream games directly from PSN.
Does it have a browser? Nope. Stream movies/music? Nope. Do I care? Nope. I have a phone and or tablet for media consumption.
Sadly if there is a major flaw worth pointing out, no bluetooth headphone support. That one is a crime, shame on you, Sony. So wired headphones are the way, the built in speakers are clock radio quality at best.

PSP is much better for the $, and it can do more than gaming ie mp3, mp4, image, and past gen physical/digital games for dirt cheap. UMD movies too like Donnie Darko or Terminator II.
Oh yeah and it an offline device which you can embrace the freedom of the entertainment!
I purposely leave out a better-choice-PSVita for being too expensive

What year is this? Did I portal trip again? Damnit, I hate when I do that.

I have a great hatred towards the pointless PS portal... But even I think this is a bit silly
So what happens when you finally do get stick drift on one of these? Is that even a problem? If it is a problem...expensive paperweight! Too many PS5 controllers have bit the dust on this drifting problem.
In for one to let my brother play the PS5 from his bedroom without taking over my living room TV. Plus 7% back with no rush shipping on the prime card.
This performs great on my network with virtually no lag, has a great screen and excellent controller, and is perfect for the (90% of the time) that someone else is monopolizing the family room TV. My complaints about it are the low battery life (it seems to drain relatively quickly unless fully powered down), the fact that it forgets its registration with my PS5 from time to time, and of course the side issue of the lack of compelling reasons to use the PS5 over my PC these days.

PS5 for me is The MLB the show box until such time as they finally port to the PC

Great price, mine has been collecting dust since I got the Backbone One and play online games (COD etc...) with graphics on max, no lag on S25 Ultra. Single player games I just like to play as intended on the big screen.
