I did recently try running firmware updates on all 6. It hasn't been long enough yet to see if that fixed the issue.

Decided to go with Yolink LoRa ones, which seem very stable, so far. The 4-pack with siren for $40 is highly recommended

That's a huge bummer. I was about to pull the trigger to replace all of my aqara water sensors but will hole off. Thanks for the info.
edit: if you're using Home Assistant you could consider an automation that looks for devices that have disconnected from the mesh.

These were my first products from Third Reality, and due to the positive experience, I added other types of devices and they all paired easily and have been reliable.
Like that they work with AAA batteries.
The Ladda rechargeable batteries are excellent, and likely rebranded eneloops.
I set them up that when they trigger, all of my Google Assistant speakers repeatedly announce a leak has been detected and it will stop when the leak is clear. Alerts our mobile phones as well.
These run on Zigbee, so you need a hub that supports Zigbee, nothing proprietary. You can also order them with a Third Reality hub. I have one of those that came with a pair I once ordered, but I've never used it.
