Also, is it worth upgrading?
G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series (XMP) DDR4 RAM 32GB (4x8GB) 3200MT/s CL16-18-18-38
RTX 3050 6GB
Building a new machine later, just trying to extend the life of this one a bit
Appreciate any thoughts. Thanks

Ultimately I don't know if it is more trouble than it is worth to do the BIOS upgrade and drop this thing in and hopefully not create any problems. This machine runs Plex in the house and primarily serves up a MAME arcade machine (which the current setup does both those things fine). But the kids would also like if it ran esports games like Fortnite reasonably well. It's too stuttery so I am hoping the CPU boost will help out, which I think it will.
A 5600 or 5700 would be a much more significant upgrade, but either not available or well over twice the price, at which point like you said I'd be looking at a whole new system. Just trying to the extend the life a little bit.
