I know that TB4 cables are super expensive, so am going to take a flyer (haven't gotten my TB5 ThinkPad yet). The reviews are all canned and written by people that don't know what they are talking about.

seems like a good price, but uh, other than like, a handful of ssds, wouldn't it make more sense to just wait for prices on actual hardware to drop? 🤐

19 reviews
8 of which are paid Vine Voice
Most of the others seem pretty paid/flowery too. (word salad listing all the specs and how useful each aspect is)

it would also appear as those they recycled an old listing so some of the reviews/ratings are probably not even for this item.
"I brought this 2 pack of HDMI cables for a PC build I was working one."
"Super affordable and work like all other hdmi cables"

Can't say I have any personal experience with this cable, but I did find its page on Intel's list of certified Thunderbolt products:

Good to know. I was skeptical about a 'no-name' brand's claim of Intel certification but didn't think to actually check it.
I'd been waffling on whether to grab this or not, but I guess I'm in. I really only 'need' TB4 (mainly for MBP -> 4K60hz display with hub/kvm), but I suppose at some point I'll acquire TB5 devices... and this isn't much more than a cheap TB4 passive cable.
Would love if the ~6ft cables weren't so darn expensive (but they're not 'passive' cables like these cheaper ones)

This isn't some no name company - I have been buying cables from Ivanky since early 2019. All their cables meet proper spec and their braided cables are ridiculously thick (be mindful of that when trying to cable manage). I've bought 10 different cables and they all have preformed to spec. I would trust this cable will be properly made as well.
