MSRP is a terrible representation of what an actual product is worth and how good of a deal something is.

One of the lowest prices I've seen on the Delta Pro. I would say so

How does it compare to a Delta Pro 3? What's the difference?

The delta pro 3 has a slightly higher output and slightly larger capacity and has native 240v. This is the original delta pro, but just as capable and considerably cheaper

Definitely not a $1000 savings...have seen these go for 1800-2000 often, at most you maybe saving a couple hundred bucks.

dP3 also has two solar inputs, quieter fans, and the ability to connect directly to an SHP2 where the DP requires and adapter and is limited. At this point I would get a DP3 over a DP if you could afford it. Though two DPs for slightly more than a single DP3 is tempting

The DP3 is a fantastic machine that is much more efficient and able to handle greater loads for longer. The DP (this one) is also a great machine for 2022, and should run any small appliances without challenge, but it will make a (lot) more noise and heat in comparison. Both are able to handle a lot.

Both will go down in price. I expect the DP to be around $1,100 sale price by Thanksgiving, and the DP3 to be around ~$1,500.

There is probably a successor to the Delta Pro Ultra (DP2) this fall, which is a different category than either of these machines. They make it confusing, but the Ultra line is intended for more whole home backup, while DP and DP3 are more portable.

In my opinion, if you want to future proof a little and have the best machine on the market for right now, the DP3 is today's winner.

You can take advantage of the 30% IRS tax credit when bought through Amazon.

Also if you have a prime credit card, you get another 5% with the Amazon prime credit card.

Delta Pro (pre 3) has 120v outlets only.

Delta Pro 3 has NEMA L14-30 120/240v outlet. If your house already has a generator circuit with L14-30 plug, then Pro 3 is the way to go.

My house has this circuit. During outage, I can live without 4k HDR TV, but I need water. The well pump runs on 240v.

Hopefully we will see Pro 3 deals before end of year, when federal tax credit expires.

Aren't we losing the tax incentives for these in September though?
