I've been drinking unflavored protein powder in water for years. It's supposed to be a convenient way to consume protein, not an artificially sweetened candy milkshake

Good deal

Buy the Dymatize. It is much better tasting. This is a good deal if you make a lot of shakes with other stuff like fruit and oats. This isn't good for just plain protein shakes.

I actually picked this deal up yesterday and got it delivered this morning. I tried it out an it and it tastes fine for unflavored powder, I definitely bought for volume and not taste tho. If it might alleviate some fears that they are just trying to dump some near expiring product, the expiration date on my bottle was 2028.

Wow my first frontpage deal posted ever. I'm so honored. Thank you! Smilie

I didn't realize there was a difference between isolate and concentrate, etc. I have no problems with dairy.

In the future should I be looking for isolate versus concentrate?

depends on your macro (protein, carbs, fats) goals and how much money you have haha. whey isolate will have zero or near zeros carbs and fats, and more protein per serving but will cost more, sometimes a lot more. If you can handle dairy and you aren't too concerned about macros, concentrate will be just fine.

Appreciate the response.

Mostly it's just an ingredient in my high protein ninja creami ice creams or in my vitamix for smoothies before or after the gym. I think this should work fine.

There was one previous deal for NOW foods whey isolate. The chocolate is currently on sale, but maybe unflavored will drop in price again.

Very pure bill of ingredients: no thickeners or sweeteners. Of course it's possible to flavor this and make a palatable shake or recipe out of it.
Sunflower lechitin is a thicker but it's still a benign one. It's comparable to raw but at 1/2 the cost

Is it normal to have the staff completely rewrite my deal description when they take stuff front page ?

Good catch. Realistically most recipes/shakes do need a little bit of thickener to taste good regardless.

So this is cheaper vs dymatize with only 2% difference for protein? But hydrolized is 2x > concentrate?
TIA

Isolate is more quickly absorbed by your body making it far more effective pre and post workout. Also helps if you have dairy digestive issues.

This is true. A counter-point is that those are rarely unflavored like this.

I've bought this brand a lot. Their quality is great. If I didn't have enough in my house already to make a concentrated cow I'd be all over this.

isolate is usually free of lactose carbs which some people have issues digesting. As far as comparing it to concentrate pre and post workout, it should not be any more effective than concentrate. The only reason I think people should buy isolate over concentrate is for those who literally count every single calorie and macronutrient.
Concentrate is more ideal for the price.
