Hp appears to have lowered the advertised price of this laptop to $498.99 with an additional $50 coupon code OMNIPC50 for an advertised total of $448.99. This seems to be a mistake on their end, since the price in cart is $529.99, for a total of $479.99 after the coupon. However, if you chat with a support rep, they appear to be willing to honor the advertised price of $498.99 - $50 = $448.99 by crediting the $31 back to your payment method after you order. This is obviously ymmv, it's possible the support rep you chat with may refuse to do so. Make sure to inform the rep of the advertised price, the $50 coupon, and mention that the price is displayed wrong in cart even when you directly click "add to cart". To easily open a chat with a support rep, click "customize and buy", click the "chat now" button on the right side of the customization page, then navigate through the menus for US laptop sales.

Edit: Huh, seeing how this deal has been downvoted, it appears a lot of people are either not reading, or trolling, ymmv is in the title for a reason. To get the price in this post you MUST chat with a support rep. If you're unwilling to put in a few minutes of effort for a discount simply move along, there's no reason to downvote a great deal.

The full specs sheet for this laptop can be found here (includes multiple configurations): https://support.hp.com/us-en/docu...1973695-16
Here's a screenshot of the support rep I chatted with stating that $31 would be credited back to my payment method after the order is received, open the image in a new tab, the default view in slickdeals crops off the support chat window on the bottom right:

Sooo, you posted on the original thread, shared how to save $31 by chatting with a rep (most people are not going to do that to save $31 when you triggered an alert by using the magic word), and then you started a new thread? That's why you're getting downvoted. It's a glitch in the cart and it's minimal savings on a mediocre sale.

I wasn't aware "mistake" alone triggered a price alert, I thought only the phrase "price mistake" did, I guess I should've have used the word error instead? I made this deal post before posting in the previous thread. Out of curiosity, what laptops would you say are a substantially better deal than this? It's fairly comparable to the frontpage costco $500 acer aspire laptop, but being $50 cheaper ($65 cheaper if you include shipping) with a 512gb ssd, no touchscreen, and a 16" form factor.

Err*r, Mist*ke, will trigger alerts to probably thousands of users who get the email and will click to come to this thread, expecting a hell of a deal. Being that this was posted a couple of times in the past month with barely any attention, I would say it's mediocre. $300-400? that would be a a deal. For the price point, it's what you would expect even with the $50 off coupon.

Here's one that had touchscreen, wifi7, is a 2 in1 and a few better specs for $50 or so more.

That lenovo laptop you're using as an example was $100 more, not $50 more. And went frontpage with the same cpu, similar tier screen (also 300nit 45%ntsc, though touchscreen and 2-in-1), same ram, etc. Wifi 7 and the moderately larger battery are nice (even though wifi 7 won't be too impactful of an improvement over wifi 6e in daily use), and it's a slightly nicer 2-in-1 chassis, but generally not worth the $100 premium (~22% more expensive) unless you specifically want a 2-in-1 touchscreen laptop. So congrats, you pointed out a recent frontpage laptop that's for most use cases a worse value than the one in this downvoted deal thread, hence proving my point.

Right on. Not pick everything to justify the downvotes. You do you. It's mediocre and not a PM. That's why you got the downvotes. I'd get it, if it came from a newbie, but you have years on here and should've known better. GLTY 👋
