That's a lot of money for a puter. I'm sure it's incredible in every measurable way.

I'm tempted! But want to wait until this Fall to see whether the M5 is worth it or not...and yes, I realize that if you gave me both side by side, I probably wouldn't be able to tell which is which. lol

you don't need this much computer power unless you are a PRO, and then you already know what you need.
I bought a $1700 14" 512gb 24gb M4 Pro. handles everything i throw at it & is FAST.
And I'm $1500 richer

Still $1700 less than before though My only gripe is why would people need that much computing power on the go. Can't you get an apple desktop with actual upgradability. There must be cases where much computing power is needed on the go but I bet the majority of the buyers just want to boast. If you do encounter this type of people, you could as them what their $3200 Mac is doing that your $1700 Mac can't do, besides the boasting.

Unfortunately Apple hate their customers and solder everything in so their is no way to upgrade anything from them anymore. They force you to pay their ridiculous prices for upgraded specs.

I have a 128GB/4TB model. I needed it for work. I could get a desktop but I also needed a new laptop so I could kill two birds with one stone, or spend even more for a laptop go to with the desktop.

Essentially the mobility is a nice to have for you. The computing power is necessary. Not a bad idea so long as you can afford it. Hopefully new entering freshman college students aren't putting something like this on their student loans.

$3300 for a laptop with 1tb storage that costs $60 is wild...
I'm not sure what's crazier, the pricing structure or people saying "Great price" lol

M1 Max is only $1,200.

M4 Max is work related
