I got a lenovo open box deal 4 or 5 years ago. The one similar to a max with a Webcam. It sits in the kitchen and is indispensable. The video calling has come in clutch with the kiddos. It casts photos from our Google back up as a screen saver and we use it for playing Spotify or looking up recipes. We would replace it immediately with a max if it were to break.
And you may have to.
I would monitor the heat coming off of it, since none of these smart devices were designed with any concept of thermal regulation.
This does not have a camera so if you are concerned with that then this is for you, but it does have a mic to listen to your commands and conversations. If you want a camera to video chat with others, then you need the Nest MAX version which is priced around $250, wait for a price drop before you buy.

It worked for me. Thanks!
Edit: Opps, no it didn't. I placed an online order for two units that were to be shipped to me. My order was initially accepted. However a few hours later I was notified that they were out of stock and so the order was cancelled. Oh well.

Had this for a while. After ~1 year and right outside warranty the screen developed green streaks across; and it's not static so it's really odd.
Google support would not help even after brining up multiple reports of this from various forums and their support forums. It's clearly a hardware issue that's affecting a bunch of these.

Seems like Nest MAX version is similar to Facebook Portal before they took away the voice control.
