Since this is extra virgin olive oil, maybe it's extra ugly, hence the bad taste and smell.

How do you know what it looks or smells like? Have you purchased it? Why would you purchase it from Amazon if you were in the olive oil business?

Only in America would this garbage sell as extra-virgin olive oil.I've been in the olive oil business for 35 years—this is NOT olive oil. If you bought this trash, sue Amazon. Find a good lawyer, and you could make serious money. This is fraud, plain and simple. Real extra-virgin olive oil doesn't look, smell, or taste like whatever this is. Amazon should be held accountable for selling this trash!
Which brand would you suggest, if any? I've tried first press olive oil from a farmer in Portugal, and I can confirm that its color, flavor, and the aroma are unlike anything I've ever tasted. From what I've learned, first press olive oil typically doesn't reach the mass market because it's purchased before it's even pressed, and if it does make it to the mass market, the price is usually too steep for the average consumer. Given this situation, what are the best options available in the US?

To everyone that is skeptical about the quality... Just taste it. If you have had real EVOO in the past, you will taste a big difference... Fake mixed stuff has little taste to it.

I went ahead and bought one because the pricing really is good. I'll know very quickly if it's fake or low quality.

If it's fake, congratulations! 🍾 A lot of class action attorney would love to talk to you.

in 35yrs, sounds like you have never sued anyone. I find that ppl who have never sued a big corporation tend to say often "sue xyz" .

Exactly. I found his post to be a lot of hot air. But hey, if serious money is to be made, be smart and buy a bottle...cash in on it. lol My guess is the 35 years in tbe olive oil business equates to casually cooking with olive oil for 35 years in his kitchen.

This is fake, real extra virgin olive oil comes in glass. I don't know what other oils this is mixed with but it is mixed. You would never get this much extra virgin olive oil for $10, sorry.

Correct, misread the label on my phone. Imported from Spain.
